  • Public libraries, of course, are a good source of information. Addresses for local libraries can be found in the phone book.

  • The California State Department of Fish & Game has several booklets and leaflets about various fish and wildlife species, available free from the Region 2 office in Sacramento (Rancho Cordova).

  • U.S. Geological Survey topographic maps — look under "maps" in the Yellow Pages for sources.
