Assess the condition of your streambank regularly and address problems quickly.

Examine your stream bank and stream channel for the following:

Bank failure of curves, especially undercutting on the outside of curves where the stream's erosive force is highest
Stripped or damaged streambank vegetation

If either of these problems exist, you may need to take action to restore your streambank to good health. See the next section, Addressing Streambank Problems, for suggestions on what to do and how to obtain the proper permission and assistance to do it.
